Not quite as amusing...

This is a photo taken last week at Leon's work.

For those that aren't great on the snake identification skills, yes it is a young King Cobra.  They are doing up one of the offices and think that they may have disturbed them, yes them - two have been found!!

But on a positive - I haven't seen one outside of the Snake Farm (which I love). But here is a photo of the last time I visited :-)

This is a slightly bigger King Cobra (without his hood on show) with his handler - yip I got a kiss!!

Oh My English...

When you are in everyday conversation with Malaysians, you notice that there are several words that they don't quite completely grasp the full and proper meanings of.  There is a series of adverts on TV promoting a programme to improve English in Malaysia.  I can't help it but I find them really really amusing and always have a little laugh.  These are just a couple of them (and only very short) but please enjoy :-)

Just across the road from our apartment is a 24/7 bar - Mr Pot.  Most of the time it is pretty harmless and seems to be a popular spot to watch the Soccer (all the European soccer is on here between 2am - 6am).  Although it is often hard to know who won, we can usually estimate the number of goals and near misses by the cheers, gasps and sighs!

I have only had a drink there once, late at night for a beer on our way home, but I have walked past it almost every day for the last 6 months.  However the other day I actually read the sign - who would have thought you could hire a car from the local 24/7 bar?  It certainly isn't the first place I would have gone for car hire...  maybe its just for those late night patrons that don't want to walk home??  Can you imagine in New Zealand - "oh I am just popping down to the pub to hire a car" doesn't really make sense to me!!!

Hey everyone - yes it has been a while!!  So as well as my busy life of being a kept woman and drinking coffee, I managed to fit in a couple of weeks as a reserve for the exercise that was up here.  So the most common question at the end of it was "do you miss it?" And my answer - "no, not at all!!"

So Kelly has given me some slack on Facebook and I have received a few other remarks about the lack of blog posts over the last couple of weeks!  I have plenty of good entertaining material saved up for you so just a matter of getting my A into G and posting it!!

Another supermarket one - did anyone know that dole grew Bean Sprouts?  Certainly surprised me :-) At least they are cleaned I guess!
